Randwick races

Saturday 13th December

So as this was possibly our last free weekend all together before Christmas as  our little apartment group, we decided to make the most of it and test out a day at randwick races!
It was a great day, and we seemed to encourage the good weather to come back after almost two weeks of rain and storms! We headed there at around 12.30pm, spent a few hours enjoying being there. It was not overly busy and it was fun having a flutter on a few horses- unfortunately no huge wins that day but fun nonetheless and no real damage was done!
We then headed into the city to darling harbour where we had a lovely meal in one of the restaurants before spending the rest of our evening walking around a few different bars- all very busy running up Christmas time of course! At 9pm they also had a fantastic firework display which went for about ten minutes, set off from a docking station in the middle of the water and it was a lovely atmosphere!
Such a lovely day out together as our Christmas treat!

Sydney harbour party boat cruise

Sunday 23rd November

This was the hottest day I've seen in Sydney by far!!! It reached just over 40 degrees and was so humid! The boat party left from darling harbour at 3pm and went on until 8! It was such a good afternoon and even with a quick shower half way through we had so much fun!

Christmas is coming... In the sunshine!?

So strange seeing Christmas decorations going up while it is so hot here! Definitely feels different here to snuggling up on the couch back home all wrapped up and cosy feeling all Christmassy!
Had to share this very cool Lego Christmas tree set up in the shopping area near my work in the city!

Happy birthday Dad Lad xx

Work night out

Friday 21st November

George and Ari invited us all for a night out on Friday as a thank you for the successful launch of Black Sugar.
We worked until 5pm and got ready there in the new bathrooms with showers and towels and all sorts to spruce ourselves up after a day at work!
We went down together to a lebonese restaurant in an area called Surry Hills, pretty much half way between the centre of the city and where I live.
The food was really good and it was great to hang out with my friends outside of work!

Maz (the barista who works alongside me on my counter) me, and Meagan does the same job as me on the other counter!

I ate octopus!

- just to clarify- I was actually having a good time, me and Meagan just thought we were funny!

Terrigal

Saturday 15th- Sunday 16th
This weekend I took a trip up the coast on the train about an hour and a half away to Terrigal to see where Gracie was from! The train ride was very picturesque too which made a difference.

It was a lovely area and felt great to be in a homely house again! (The first thing I did when I arrived was roll around on the fluffy rug on the floor!)
My new friend Ellie

We went for a drive around the area when I first got there which was lovely and saw loads of lovely beaches!
Gracie's parents were away so all of her friends came around in the afternoon which was nice to meet them!
We then headed out to see what the local pub was like which was very busy as it was holding an vent to promote anther music festival this summer!

The next day it was raining and thundering in the morning so we spent a few hours on the couch watching TV and relaxing! By about lunch time it had turned Into a gorgeous day, so we headed to an area called the Haven.

We went and got fish and chips (best I have had since I've been away!) and sat up on the top of the hill and ate with a great view!

It was a lovely couple of days seeing somewhere new with good company and after saying I would leave around 4pm it was after 6 when I left as we kept finding something else or other to talk and laugh about for the next two hours! 😃

Harbour life

Saturday 8th November
Summer in Sydney seems to be the place to be for music festivals! Harbour life was the first one of the season for me, held in a park near the far side of Sydney harbour to catch a great backdrop!
Gracie and her friend Kate came to my house in the morning so we all got ready together. It was a gorgeous sunny day so we headed down by the beach with my housemates for an hour before we had to leave.
We got there around 1pm and it finished at around 10pm when we joined back up with the housemates!

It was a brilliant day with music we did not stop dancing to for the entire time that we were there!

Sculptures by the sea

Bondi beach
 Saturday 25th October
This is an outdoor exhibition which takes place once a year, and as the name suggests, is over 100 different sculptures along a costal walk to bondi beach.

In the giant frying pan!!

Snakes and ladders

This was one for my favourites! Pictures can't quite do it justice but the idea is that the circular image on the round board was reflected onto the vertical steel pole to produce the image you can see in the pole near the bottom.

"Gel and mark".... Okay might have re-named that one myself!

This looked like people peering over the edge of the cliff

This was made of bottle tops and cable ties!
