Sculptures by the sea

Bondi beach
 Saturday 25th October
This is an outdoor exhibition which takes place once a year, and as the name suggests, is over 100 different sculptures along a costal walk to bondi beach.

In the giant frying pan!!

Snakes and ladders

This was one for my favourites! Pictures can't quite do it justice but the idea is that the circular image on the round board was reflected onto the vertical steel pole to produce the image you can see in the pole near the bottom.

"Gel and mark".... Okay might have re-named that one myself!

This looked like people peering over the edge of the cliff

This was made of bottle tops and cable ties!

Sydney harbour > Manly

Friday 17th October
I went for lunch with a friend in Manly ( north Sydney) which is a 20 minute ferry ride from Sydney centre. It was a lovely area and well worth the trip, but the main reason for this post is to share some of the fantastic photos I managed to capture on my journey back...

Working 9-5... More like 7-5!

30th October- just an update
Last week my work opened after the renovation was finally complete! The first day was absolutely manic but was a good atmosphere!
The cafe has continued to be busy but has settled into more of a routine. I am enjoying the people I work with, the bosses are great (and I'm getting fed like a queen!) so for now I am happy working there and am starting to save some money for some big travel plans in a couple of months!

Just a few pics of where I work and how it looks now it has been renovated. Not the best but it gives you all an idea!

Taronga Zoo

Sunday 19th October
I had been looking forwards to today for a few weeks and was so excited to see Debbie and Jess again! I headed into the city fairly early and met up with them at a cafe at circular quay where we had a coffee to start the day. We were also with Debbie's friends Seni,John and their baby peter.
Within about ten minutes jess seemed to be having fun and was on my hip playing and laughing at my sunglasses!
We then got the ferry which was only a short ten minute ride, but jess seemed fascinated and was already having so much fun!

The zoo itself was great and we spent a good four or five hours there ( obviously letting the inner child in me out and taking lots of pics of the animals hehe)

It was a lovely afternoon and soon it was time to head back over on the ferry!
We then made our way to a cafe in the Sydney opera house for another coffee break!!!
Since Debbie was in the city it was good timing for her to go and see the nighttime noodle market- which obviously I didn't want to miss out on either! We shared a big selection of dumplings which were tasty and the atmosphere was great again!
Sadly it was time to go home at around 8pm after a full day! It was so lovely to spend time with the two of them together while visiting a great tourist spot, and I can't wait to see them again soon! 😊

Nighttime noodle market

Thursday 16th October

In Hyde Park in the centre of Sydney, there is a temporary Asian noodle market, full of temporary food stalls and bars which is set up for two weeks and open from 5pm-11. The estimated footfall each night is 10,000, and when we went to check it out it was very busy but a great atmosphere!!
I did have some chicken cashew nut  with rice and a Thai fish cake which were both very tasty!
I will be back by the end of the week no doubt to sample some more food as there was too much choice for one day! Here are a few photos...

Sydney storm!

Monday 13th October
Quite a big storm hit Sydney on Monday night, and after a short break during the next day, the rain continued to lash down throughout Tuesday night with some huge bolts of lightening striking the sea too! ⚡️☔️
I'm sat here at 10am on Wednesday morning, looking outside at the grey sky and the wind blowing at the trees in the road! Great day to have a day off as I plan to be very lazy and have a cozy TV day on the couch, watch a couple of movies, and drink about 20 cups of tea ☺️☕️
Monday night, a pic from the hotel at the end of the road around 6pm as the storm clouds started rolling in!

Yes... I've really just made a whoooole post about the weather 😳 but I guess since it's our first real bit of rain since we've been here i need to prove that it's not beaming glorious sunshine 100% of the time... Just 98% hehe!

And after saying I was going to stay in all day I did in fact venture outside and spot that the waves at sea were huge and the tide was so high!! I went for a walk at the beach and went up to the top of the hill on the cliffs to get a better view, and I could have stayed there for hours watching if my hands hadnt started to lose function as it was so cold and windy as I was taking photos.

These pics can't even quite capture how great it looked but here are some of the best.
